I'm starting to get a little obsessed with seeing what I'm capable of. I'm not quite OBSESSED, but I'm getting there. I think we can all empathize that showing up consistently, doing what you say and being the best version of yourself is quite difficult.
It's more difficult to rule yourself than to rule a city.
I'm approaching January like I approach any month, the focus this month is to solidify habits. There's this land of the unknown that I'm trying to get familiar with this year. To get to this terrible or beautiful place I have to put together all the skills and habits that were built over 2018. Venturing on the edges of what I know, seeking vital information to reach this paradise or hell. That's a journey we can all relate to.
"Each journey requires different tools, durations, skills, attitude, and focus - no journey is ever the same. There are valuable lessons, skills, and tools to take from other peoples journeys but at the end of the day you still have to walk that treacherous path. This path is unavoidable - looking for a new environment, a new skill, a better job, better health, partner(s) in crime, meaning, etc. Everything has a reward but that doesn't come without challenges.
Question: Is the journey worth the consistent effort that it demands? Want to know the answer, what you really believe - watch how you act.
Truth is, what appears to be paradise from here can actually be hell. I understand why anyone wouldn't want to venture into the unknown but you have to go.
You have to see what's out there."
